Tax Wealth Not Work

Fit and sizing

Sizing & The Return Loop

Better Systems Begin Before We Print

We believe a more sustainable production system begins long before a garment reaches the factory.

It begins with choosing the right size.

taxwealthnot.work operates without speculative inventory. We do not manufacture garments in advance, store them in warehouses, or produce surplus stock in anticipation of future demand. Every piece is printed only after an order has been placed.

This production model dramatically reduces unnecessary waste.

It also works best when garments are ordered thoughtfully.

We do not ask customers to measure carefully to reduce our costs.

We ask because every correctly sized order avoids unnecessary transport, unnecessary production, and unnecessary material consumption.

The most sustainable return is the one that never becomes necessary.

I. The Precision Fit Protocol

The clothing industry has never agreed on what constitutes a "Medium" or a "Large."

Sizing varies significantly between brands.

For that reason, we do not rely on generic sizing labels.

Instead, every product page includes a garment-specific size guide for the T-shirt that design is printed on, and all three charts are repeated at the foot of this page.

Before ordering, we recommend a simple process.

1. Choose a Reference Garment

Select a T-shirt from your own wardrobe that already fits exactly as you like.

2. Lay It Flat

Place the garment on a flat surface without stretching the fabric.

3. Measure It

Measure the chest width (armpit to armpit) and body length (highest shoulder point to the bottom hem).

4. Compare the Measurements

Match those measurements against the size chart on the relevant product page. The Men's Oversized Tee chart includes garment measurements (garment chest, armpit to armpit, and garment length) that you can compare directly. The Men's Basic T-shirt and Women's Relaxed Fit Tee charts give body measurements, so for those, measure yourself with a tape as each chart describes, and use your own garment to judge how loose you like the fit.

Garment measurements are considerably more reliable than relying on a letter printed on a neck label.

II. Understanding Our Fits

Every design is printed on one of three certified organic cotton T-shirts. The product page names the one you are looking at.

Men's Basic T-shirt

155 g/m², classic fit, sizes XS to 5XL. If you fall between sizes, go for the larger of the two.

Men's Oversized Tee

Mid-weight 230 g/m², oversized fit with dropped shoulders, sizes XS to XXL. It is cut generously, so if you fall between sizes, go for the smaller of the two.

Women's Relaxed Fit Tee

155 g/m², relaxed fit with a side split and rolled sleeves, sizes 8 to 24. If you fall between sizes, go for the smaller of the two.

III. Why We Don't Encourage Bracketing

Many online fashion retailers actively encourage "bracketing"—the practice of ordering multiple sizes of the same garment with the expectation of keeping one and returning the rest.

Within traditional retail, this is often commercially manageable because large inventories already exist.

Our production model is different.

Every garment is manufactured specifically for the individual who ordered it.

Ordering multiple sizes with the expectation that most will be returned introduces unnecessary transport, handling and production into a system specifically designed to avoid those things.

Our goal is not to discourage returns.

Our goal is to reduce the need for them in the first place.

IV. If Something Isn't Right

We want every customer to enjoy wearing their garment.

If your order arrives with a manufacturing defect, printing error, or damage sustained during delivery, we will always work quickly to put things right. We will manufacture and dispatch a replacement immediately at our expense.

If you simply ordered the wrong size, contact us: like-for-like exchanges (the same product in a different size or colour) are free within 28 days of dispatch.

Because every garment is produced to order, available options may differ from those offered by businesses operating traditional warehouse inventory.

Our full Returns Policy explains your consumer rights, return windows and eligibility in detail.

V. Designing Out Waste

Traditional fashion retail often builds the cost of high return rates directly into its operating model.

In speculative retail, the financial and environmental costs of systemic waste are socialised across all buyers. The careful customer is forced to subsidize the wasteful shipping loops of others.

We reject this model. Rather than planning for unnecessary returns, we prefer to design a system in which fewer returns become necessary in the first place.

That begins with accurate sizing.

A few minutes spent measuring a garment you already own can eliminate unnecessary shipping, reduce material waste, and ensure your new garment fits exactly as intended.

Better systems produce better outcomes.

VI. A Shared Responsibility

Our responsibility is to manufacture only what is genuinely needed.

Your responsibility is simply to order as carefully as possible.

Those two decisions work together.

They create a production system that uses fewer resources, generates less waste, and remains faithful to the principles described throughout this website.

We are not trying to build a faster fashion business.

We are trying to build a better one.

Still Unsure?

If you're uncertain about sizing before placing your order, we'd much rather help you choose the right fit than manufacture the wrong garment.

Please contact our studio before ordering and we'll do our best to help you select the size that's right for you.

Better Products Begin with Better Systems

Every page of this website describes a different part of the same philosophy.

The Manifesto explains why we exist.

The 99.96% Safeguard explains the policy ideas that inspire our work.

The Circular Loop explains how our garments are made.

Sizing & The Return Loop explains how those garments remain part of an efficient production system long after they leave the factory.

Every part matters.

Because good design is not just about what we make.

It is about how thoughtfully the entire system works.
